1664 Samuel Kuhn (aka Coon or Coans)

Born: Apr. 11, 1664 at Huttengesass, Hessen-Nassau, Prussia (Germany) Died: 1715 in Columbia County, NY His father was 1623 Hans Samuel Kuhn (or Cuhn) of Prussia. His mother was 1629 Catherina (last name unknown) of Prussia. He was married Nov. 1, 1688 to 1674 Elisabetha Loescher in Huttengesass, Hessen-Nassau, Prussia (now Germany). He was married about 1692 to 1665 Magdalena Berthen. He had at least one daughter, 1703 Anna Catherine Kuhn, and there is conflicting data as to which of his wives was the mother of Catherine Kuhn (nee Coon or Coans). We are fairly certain that Magdalena was the mother of their child. Samuel emigrated in 1710 to New York state with five children; there is no mention of a wife; there were twelve ships that sailed in 1710; we don't know which one they were on. In 2010, the state of Prussia is now a part of the Republic of Germany.
