"OSCAR PULIS DIES AT ADVANCED AGE"

"Farmer of Vallonia Springs is Victim of Brief Illness - Funeral Today"

AFTON, Feb. 4 [1935] - Oscar M. Pulis, 80, died at his home at Vallonia
Springs, near Afton, at 7:30 o'clock Sunday night.  Death followed a
short illness.

  The deceased was born at Honesdale, Pa., Dec. 22, 1854, the son of
James M. and June [sic] Brown Pulis.  He married Euphemia Faatz on
Aug. 12, 1883.  Later, Mr. and Mrs. Pulis moved to Selby, S.D.  In
1898, the family moved to Johnson City, where they resided for seven
years, and about 30 years ago, moved to the farm at Vallonia Springs.

  The deceased was a member of the First Baptist Church of Afton.
  
  The late Mr. Pulis is survived by his widow, three daughters, Mrs.
Ralph Morley of Tunnel; Mrs. Austin Livingston  and Mrs. Jay Terry,
both of Vallonia Springs; one sister, Mrs. C.V. Conyne of Hubbard,
Oregon; two brothers, Emery Pulis of White View, S.D. and Elmer Pulis
of Wilsall, Mont.; also several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

  Funeral services will be held in the First Baptist Church tomorrow
afternoon at 1:30.  The Rev. William B. Adams of the Afton Baptist
Church will officiate.  Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
