He is listed in the 1900 Census for Philadelphia, Penn. at the age
of 28, with these family members in his household:

  Arleigh     age  3   born May  1897

His occupation in 1900 is listed as "Brakeman, Pennsylvania Railroad".

He is listed in the 1933 telephone directory for Herkimer/Mohawk, NY.
His telephone number was "370-R".  I believe this means that he
was on a "party line".  At that time, private lines were quite rare.

He is mentioned in the autobiography of Bessie Ann Dutcher.
He was her uncle.  

Both of his parents were born in Pennsylvania.
I have no other information about either of them as of July 2014.

NOTE: The spelling of his name on his gravestone is "Lewis", not "Louis".
