  He was born Dec.  3, 1846 in Ottbergen, Krais-Hoxter, Germany.
  He died Jan.  9, 1915 in Seneca, Nemaha County, Kansas.
  He was married Nov.  7, 1871 to Anna Maria Bertke in St. Louis, MO.
  
     
Her mother was Anna Maria (Mary Ann) Bertke.

  She was born Oct. 26, 1852 in St. Louis, MO.
  She died Oct. 11, 1935 in Seneca, Nemaha County, Kansas.
  She was married Nov.  7, 1871 to Aloysius Nolte in St. Louis, MO.

  
She may have been named "Theresia Maria Nolte" or "Theresa Marie Nolte".

She was married June 16, 1903 to Bernard Henry Rothers.

They had four children together:

  Alvis Rothers   born 1904.
  Mary Agnes Rothers  born Sep. 11, 1905.
  Philip Rothers  born between 1906 and 1910.
  Larry Rothers   born between 1906 and 1910.
  
With the early death of their mother, in 1910, Mary and Alvis 
were moved into the home of their paternal grandparents, on
the parallel near Soldier, Kansas.  Philip and Larry went to 
live with the Nolte grandparents near Seneca, Kansas.
