1887 Mary D. Burnett

Born: 1887 at Unknown

Died: 1968 at Unknown

She is buried at Nineveh Presbyterian Cemetery, Nineveh, NY.

Her father was Unknown.

Her mother was Unknown.

She was married to 1889 William Roberts.

They had two children together:

  1913 Florace Harold Roberts
  1916 Rose Edna Roberts (VanValkenburg)

The photo above was taken in 1943 and shows 1919 Homer Dutcher
and 1919 Margaret Livingston. We believe that the woman shown
on the left is 1887 Mary D. Burnett Roberts, Homer's aunt, given
that Homer's mother Gertrude Roberts has passed away in 1930; Gertrude
was the sister of Mary's husband and Homer's uncle, William Roberts.

As children, Homer and his brother F. Herbert were living with their
Aunt Mary and Uncle William Roberts in Nineveh Junction, Afton, NY,
on East River Road.

In 1967, after William had passed away, Mary was living at:

  12 Park Street
  Afton, NY 13730

Mary wrote a letter to the U.S. Army, requesting a government-issue
upright headstone for her nephew 1919 Homer Edwin Dutcher, to be
placed in the Nineveh Presbyterian Cemetery in Nineveh, NY, in
memory of Homer, who was killed in WWII. The request was denied
because in 1947 Homer's wife Margaret had chosen for Homer to be
buried in the military cemetery at Ardennes, Neupre, Belgium.
The military command does not allow for subsequent changes.
