1917 Ruth Elizabeth Livingston

Born: Oct. 3, 1917 at Probably Colesville, NY

Died: Unknown at Probably Colesville, NY

Her father was 1895 Minor Howard Livingston.

Her mother was 1897 Ada Teale.

In the 1920 census, Ruth is living on a dairy farm in Colesville, NY.

In the 1925 census there is also a second daughter, Inez E. Livingston,
but Minor is no longer listed. Ruth's mother Ada died in 1927, and
Minor re-married to Elizabeth Hallstead in 1931.

In the 1930 census, the two sisters, Ruth and Inez, are still living
on the same farm with their grandfather John Teal (or Teale) and with
Mary A. Fenton - we don't know her relationship to the others - but
Carrie is no longer listed, so she may have passed away earlier.

Editor's Note:

There are two Ruth E. Livingstons, both born in Binghamton in 1917.

Ruth Evelyn Livingston born July 9, 1917 to Ira and Hazel

Ruth Elizabeth Livingston born Oct. 3, 1917 to Minor and Ada

One of them, I believe Ruth Evelyn, was a stenographer in 1938
and working at Wilcox Wholesale Hardware. She was residing with
her parents at 45 Brook Avenue in Binghamton.

We believe that the two Ruth's are first cousins.

Information from Peggy Brewster

Here is a 1918 Group Photo of the Livingston/Burhyte reunion held
that year. I believe that the small child being held by the woman
wearing glasses is 1917 Ruth Elizabeth Livingston, and that the woman
in glasses is her mother, 1897 Ada Teale, but this is not known,
it is just an "educated guess".
