His training was at Sampson Naval Center, Sampson, NY. He was also in the U.S. Army (Serial # 32251169) Tec. 5 Corps of Engineers. Morrell worked at many jobs; farming in his early years, then at Crowley's Creamery, and the last few years for Pomeroy Lumber Co. He was a member of the V.F.W. of Afton, NY and the Afton Fire Dept. He loved to hunt, especially raccoon and deer. He died 6:00 AM at home on November 8, 1997 from cancer. He had three brain tumors and two lung tumors.
