Shirley's Obituary
Shirley Charlene (Morley) Woodruff of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away
at Florida Hospital, Daytona Beach, Florida on Tuesday, December 11, 2018
at age 90, after a short illness.
Shirley was born November 25, 1928, to the late Ralph and Lulu (Pulis)
Morley on the family farm near North Colesville, New York, the youngest
of six children and the last survivor. She married Bryce Levi Woodruff
on June 28, 1952 in Sanitaria Springs, New York. Bryce predeceased her

Shirley attended Harpursville (NY) Central School and took part in the
World War II home defense effort by helping man an aircraft observation
post that had to report any sighted aircraft to New York City. She
worked as a nurse's aide at Chenango Bridge Nursing Home, later for the
S&H Green Stamp Redemption Store in Binghamton, NY and then for Stow
Manufacturing.
She lived in Broome County, NY until 1985 when she and her husband
moved to Schenectady, NY. She then moved to Forida in 2015.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Sanitaria
Springs and later St. Brennan's Catholic Church in Ormond Beach.
Shirley enjoyed walking, reading and watching old shows on TV. She
also enjoyed travelling, flying to Southern California several times
and flying to Seoul, Korea by herself at age 72 to spend a month with
her son and daughter-in-law. She was a fantastic cook whose specialties
included a unique macaroni and cheese as well as blueberry pie. Family
was the love of her life and she enjoyed reunions and being the
matriarch of the Morley clan.
She is survived by sons Charles (OkJu) Woodruff of Seoul, Korea and
Stephen Woodruff of Ormond Beach, Florida, and grandsons Andrew (Della)
and Sean Woodruff of New York City. She is also survived by a special
niece Patricia Morley of Titusville, Florida and many other nieces,
nephews and friends. Besides her husband she was predeceased by
daughter-in-law Marion "Pixie" Woodruff and grandson, Rich Woodruff,
